3. Sometimes the answer is to let go, not to hold on.

How was 2022 for you?
It was a whirlwind of change, growth, and uncertainty for me. Three things we know are great for building character and leading to better things in our lives, but boy is it tough when you’re in the swell of it!
Although it was a challenging year, reflecting on it has helped me see the positive as well as consider how to best move forward. As they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. That was definitely the theme of my 2022!
Here are the top five lessons I learned last year. I hope you find my reflections at least interesting, if not inspiring, as we move through 2023.
1. Do the hardest thing first.
What task gets your heart racing when you wake up realizing you’ve planned to do it? It’s working out for me, so that’s why I do it first thing in the morning. I don’t wait for other things to distract me.
I wake up, see my exercise mat and workout clothes, and get ready to move. It doesn’t have to be an hour-long session, by the way. Just 20–30 minutes is enough to energize me and prepare me to greet the day.
