If you go to any news website right now, the first thing you’ll most likely see is a negative headline. The top headline usually has something to do with COVID-19. Sometimes you’ll see a bright red banner with an updated number of deaths and cases or some stories about overcrowded hospitals.

How does this information affect your mental state? It probably doesn’t instill you with hope or send any positive vibes your way. Rather, it drags you down and causes you to worry.

You’ll find out what you need to know

The people around you will certainly inform you of any events or happenings that can affect you. You probably won’t need to go looking for information yourself.

Do you need to know exactly how many cases of COVID-19 there are in your country? How does this information benefit you in any way, other than cause you to panic?

The desire to constantly receive updates and be connected to several social media platforms at once is potentially hurting our mental health. I stopped reading the news daily when I found myself unable to let go of my phone for hours at a time and then, once in bed, being unable to sleep until 1 AM!
