In my experience, after facing that level of discomfort, withdrawing for a bit, sitting with myself, even distracting myself with a book or other activity, helps bring me back to a more balanced state.

However, ultimately, I find comfort in seeing what I went through as something I had to face to build resilience.

I’m a pretty sensitive person and, as I shared, this sensitivity was really holding me back. It doesn’t feel good and it can be very stressful to push back, but I’ve come to see that pain as necessary for growth.

I believe a lot of the struggles I went through in my early 20s are linked to me running away from the pain, and it wasn’t until I faced what bothered me head-on that I became stronger emotionally.

Now I can face obstacles that come my way a lot better ☺
