Yes, the wearing of the niqab can understandably be quite unsettling to those of us (even other Muslims) who don’t wear it/understand it. Morocco is a Muslim country and we struggle with it a lot. It goes against our more open-minded culture where women are encouraged to not even wear the hijab!

It’s an ongoing challenge I guess between letting people wear what they like AND ensuring we’re not supporting the subjugation of women based on strict religious interpretations…!
